Berryessa Gap Verdejo 2019 - A classic Spanish styled white wine - refreshingly different , light fruity and crisp from our friend winemaker Nicole Salengo.   Nicole is excelling at working with this warm weather vineyard that fronts the 'gap' in the hillside. More like Spain than France, Verdejo enjoys the warm climate. Carved over millenia through the last coastal hill before the huge Sacramento Valley, the Berryessa Gap is a stunning geologic feature. It funnels cooler air at night directly towards this 60 acre vineyard.  Nicole has a vision of making light vineyard designate wines. While the vineyard's days are warm to hot,  this nightly breeze off Lake Berryessa and through the gap gently cools the grapes, allowing perfect ripening. Nicole has a deft touch and has 10 years experience with this vineyard.  Here she created a great wine to accompany lighter dishes like fish piccata & chicken mushroom.  $27. 125 case production.
