Tonti Vineyard Zinfandel - Russian River - 2019 - Peter Tonti's wine is a gem. Rich, full, intense yet smooth and extracted. Peter Tonti first made wine with his father, Michael Tonti, an Italian immigrant. They used an old hand press and made wine over 60 years ago, in their Ohio home. Peter's dream was ignited and eventually brought him to make wine in Sonoma, where he's pursued his passion.
Peter's vineyard was planted in 1900. This bottle is history. Lots of plum and spice. Smooth finish. We are very pleased to share. The artwork is by Michael Tonti, and is a scene from their family village, Forni del Sannio in Italy.
From the winery: "A juicy fruit forward Zin with attention grabbing layers of smoke and spice. Deep purple color, fruity aromas and flavors of grilled plum, raspberry coulis, tobacco, black pepper, coriander seed, and allspice with a silky, lively, off-dry light-to-medium body and smooth, delightful, medium long finish with notes of leather with moderate oak flavor."
